Entry #8 BODIES BODIES BODIES

Image
I wanted to do something fun so I watched this black comedy horror movie Bodies Bodies Bodies. And its one of those divisive movies for people, your either going to love it or hate it. For me I loved it, its one of my favorite comedy movies of 2022.       Directed by Halina Reijn, this was her first time directing a movie in English since she is from the Netherlands. The movies stars, Rachel Sennott, Maria Bakalova, Lee Pace, Myha'la Herrold, Pete Davidson, Chase Sui Wonders, Amandla Stenberg. The premise starts with 20 year old group of friends having a hurricane party in a mansion, while playing game called, "bodies bodies bodies" turns into a serious murder mystery and drama begins from there.            I feel this movie is targeting a new generation, this feels like a comedy movies like Mean Girls , Clueless . This is feels like a comedy for gen z that is more of a satire of stereotypes. The dialogue feels n...

#Hashtag Entry #7

How social media greatly influenced me in my lifetime.  In the beginning there was God named Mark Zuckerberg.... Before your aunt was posting Minion memes on her Facebook page and your grandma was radicalized by Q Annon.  There was a time were millennials would download songs (illegally) from LimeWire and actually ended up downloading a virus. A time where Myspace and Facebook were slowly kicking off into the late 2007's. Around this time I was about 5 years old as a gen z not knowing anything about the internet, there were videos on YouTube that traumatized as a child. The whole Maze Jump scare that I pissed my 5 year old SpongeBob underwear. The ghost car scare from that K-fee commercial, etc.   (πŸ‘ˆThis was Momo back in the day) (The hell with this video and the upper one too)   This time I didn't have a phone, but social media was not really a thing of thing. I remember my mom had one of those Motorola pink flip phones. And there were also BlackBerry fli...

Entry #6 The Outwaters (2023)

Image
The Outwaters is a found footage horror movie, directed by Robbie Banfitch. What did I watch....          This indie horror movie was made with a small budget of just $15,000 is surprising. Although the film was released in 2023 its now on rent on digital. So I decided to check it out because it was supposedly disturbing. Yes this movie is disturbing, although its somewhat misleading, I have mixed views on this film. This is one of those experimental films that I can see why someone might not like it.      The premise of this movie, is a couple of friends who go and camp out in the desert, (who the hell camps in the desert?) after taking a trip to the desert, insane things begin to happen that is hard to describe and make sense of. This movie derails in the last act, it is organized by digital SD cards because it was captured on digital video, there are 3 SD cards. When put together they make the entire movie.  ...

Entry #5 Arizona Water Shortage Crisis

Image
As a student and an Arizonan, this is concerning stuff. The Arizona water shortage crisis is looming closely as the climate crisis continues. Arizona will not have enough water to supply and sustain its self in the coming years.                                                            https://earth.org/arizona-water-shortage/     For this blog, I'll be reviewing the article above by Olivia Lai who wrote the article, "What's happening with the Arizona Water Shortage Crisis". Which was published on May 24 2022. The article informs a pressing issue that is happening in the West and mostly in the South West. Specifically in Arizona, the author focuses on the Colorado River which has two reservoirs, Lake  Mead and Lake Powell. Which are considered Arizona's main wate...

Entry #4 Scream (2022) movie review

Image
I love this series of movies, this is probably the only few horror movies that are consistently good.        I know scream 3 is considered the "worst" of the entire series. Personally, hot take, I think scream 3 is fine....cancel me. Some people say the voice changer seems stupid, but honestly I think its become way to relevant now.       There is now AI that can alter people voices that replicate their tone and resonance. That is scary for modern audiences, the technology of AI replicating peoples voices, using only three seconds of pitch is insane. Its terrifying, that Scream 3 in some way, predicted the future of technology, this technology can be used for scammers, criminals, and hackers and potential Craigslist serial killers to impersonate people you know.     Either way, Scream 5 (2022) was released for a decade since the last movie scream 4 (2011). And its the first movie that is not directed by Wes Cra...

Entry #3 The Leprechaun Sighting in Crichton, Alabama 2006

Image
I know its February but... Its almost πŸ€March πŸ€, so I wanted to do something fun! πŸ˜πŸ˜πŸ€ This story is from a local news broadcast (NBC 15) in Crichton Alabama, it is a popular story on the internet that is now nearly two decades old. In March of 2006, the local residents in Crichton Alabama gathered around a tree just before Saint's, Patrick's Day! NBC 15 noticed this and quickly picked up on the story of what was occurring within the community. The rest is internet history! Brian Johnson was one of the news reporters on the ground looking into this story and who interviewed the residents in the community. Although the sighting of the leprechaun was never shown in a video or in the broadcast, a hilarious drawing of the supposed "leprechaun" was shown in the video.  The depiction of the supposed leprechaun appears to have a hat and a face with a no mouth. (its hard to tell because the drawing looks like it was made by some half assed sketch and this is 2006.) However...

Movie review, The Poughkeepsie Tapes

Image
HI Everyone! Today's movie review is The Poughkeepsie Tapes, directed by John Erick Dowdle, the film was originally released in 2008, but due to unknown reasons it was pulled from schedule. Until 2017 the film was released on Blu Ray. The film has been reviewed as, "disturbing". And yes the film is quite disturbing, but there are not many graphic scenes its for the most part psychological which is what makes it disturbing. (I recommend watching it with someone else, not alone, never experienced fear that I am afraid for my life.)  (some spoilers)  The film is a true crime mockumentary, (thus its not a real documentary, and only a fictional documentary) following FBI agents and police investigating a serial killer who has stalked and tortured its victims while recording himself in the act. This concept is the typical true crime fashion especially now since true crime has widely risen in popularity before the era of streaming services, podcasts, YouTube etc. for its time i...
